Wednesday 18 November 2015 is National Wear Orange Wednesday.
On WOW Day people across Australia will be wearing orange as a way to say thanks to our dedicated SES volunteers who help their communities prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
In Western Australia, a search and rescue exercise will be held at Blackwall Reach in Bicton to display the skills and competencies of SES volunteers in a simulated emergency search with canines, vertical rescue and flood boat rescue.
To show appreciation for SES volunteers, iconic locations around the State will be lit up in a brilliant orange and the SES flag will be flown at the DFES Emergency Services Complex in Cockburn.
An orange themed afternoon tea will be held at the Emergency Services Complex and organisations are encouraged to host their own WOW Day events.
SES units are encouraged to host a BBQ, morning tea or similar event around the 18 November, Wear Orange Wednesday, to thank their volunteers for their hard work.
Show your support for the SES by wearing orange on Wednesday 18 November. For more information please visit the national WOW Day website: WOW link
