Two teams from Cockburn SES have worked through the night responding to 21 requests for assistance. All were water related, flooding, blocked gutters and some roof issues.
Thanks to the employers and families supporting our volunteers so they can help our community.

We have more teams ready to go. If you need assistance dial 132500.
Stay safe on the roads and exercise caution.

City of Cockburn, let’s get ready.

With some wild weather on the way, City of Cockburn, let’s get ready.

What can you do now to prepare?
*Talk about a emergency plan with contingencies for storm or floods (write it down even better!)
– what do you need to organise, documents? valuables? insurance?
– what if you’re not home?
– have your pets been considered?
*Pack your evacuation kits
*Discuss safe behaviours in floods (don’t drive through flooded roads or let kids play in flood water)

**All of your actions to get prepared can really help for when the event arrives.

**The more you practice, the better chance you have of responding well in a stressful situation under pressure = resilience.
